Kumawood has often faced criticisms for their mediocre output. And of course the mainstream players in their movies are ridiculed for not been able to express themselves in English.
Most of them put up a strong defense, saying English Language is not their native language hence cannot be compelled to speak it.
However there are notable actors and actresses who can speak fluent English but are not willing, as it were, to join their counterparts in Ghollywood. Ghbase has com compiled a list of some of these English speakers.
#Vivian Jill Lawrence
Vivian Jill is one of the prettiest actresses in Ghana. She speaks good English and it is still puzzling that she doesn’t make any attempt to switch to Ghallywood. She is in her mid-30s and a very good actress as well.
Bill Asamoah is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Actors Guild (a position which requires good communication skills). He is married and has a child.
Bill can speak English very well and has even granted interviews speaking English language. He has acted in countless number of movies and he is one of the revered figures in the Kumawood industry.
Nana Ama’s ability to speak fluent English is known by lots of people. The Aben Show hostess speaks good grammar when she actually wants to.
Her real name is Felicity Ama Agyemang. She has won many awards and has also appeared in productions done by their English counterparts.
